コンピュータと人間の関係：CHI2010

アメリカの計算機学会の支部会として、CHI(Human Factors in Computing Systems)というのがあるのですが、先日これを見学してきました。

詳細は省きますが、発表されたものの中でウェブに映像があるものをひとつ紹介します。

自分の手をそのまま入力装置にしてしまう研究。手を叩いたときの手と肌の振動を分析するので、振動センサーを内蔵したアームバンドをひとつ手に巻くだけでよい。
学会では聴衆の目の前で実際にデモを披露していました。
Demo or Dieという格言？がこの分野の学生たちの間にありますが、まさにその格言を地でいっています。

日常生活の中で使えるものかどうかの評価はまだのようですが、携帯音楽プレーヤーに必要な５つのボタンを試しに５本の指や腕の５カ所に割当てて試験したところ、９０％前後の確率できちんと情報がとれたとのこと。

５年１０年後には私達の生活の中に入ってきているかもしれません。

例えば、（日本の携帯にはあまりこの機能がないですが）Haptic feedbackという、携帯のタッチパネルが振動してタッチした感覚をより鋭敏に指先に知らせてくれる機能。このような触覚によるインターフェイスは、１０年ほど前にやはり今回のような学会で発表されたコンセプトでした。

ソウル、UXデザインという仕事、HCI Korea

１月から韓国、ソウルにきています。ここではUXデザイン（User Experience Design)という仕事をはじめてます。

もうすぐ来てから１ヶ月、生活の基本はセットアップ終了、しかし韓国語はまだこれから。日本の大学での研究も再スタートを切らなくてはいけないし、作品の製作発表機会も場所を問わず作ってゆかなければ。

この週末はLunar new year's dayというお休みでした。要するに旧正月。ソウルは、というか、韓国全体もそうかもしれないが、クリスチャンが多く、そのため町を歩いていても教会が目立つ。仏教もそれなりに盛んなはずだが、　日本のようにそのへんに神社仏閣が、、ということはない。そのためか、正月といってもあまりお祭りの雰囲気はなし。同僚に聞いても、皆家族と一緒に過ごすものだとか。アメリカでいうThanksGivingに近い意味合いで皆過ごすのでしょう。

デザインやアートのシーンはどうなっているのか？
まだこれから頑張って探してゆかなければならないところですが、

１）建物のデザインには興味深いものがいくつかありました。

この建物は、東京にある表参道ヒルズのようにゆるい螺旋を描いて中庭を中心に上ってゆく構造になっています。

どちらが先なのか？
サムジーキルは２００４年にできた。表参道とだいたい同じ時期ですね。。
この中には、ファッション、雑貨の店がはいっていますが、クオリティが高い。かつ、基本的に韓国のものを売っている。

いくつかの店は、モダンな工芸品の店で、作家自ら店を運営している。

は、昔の家のドアや家具の一部を使って新しい家具をデザイン、販売している工房。

モビールですばらしいものがいくつかあった。

２）HCI　Korea

HCI(Human Computer Interaction)の韓国の学会を見てきました。

延世大学のHCI Labのプレゼンテーションは良かった
